This education and training opportunity is comprised of a 3-part series of interactive workshops that will help teams gain a deeper understanding of 2SLGBTQ communities and how to begin fostering more affirming daily practices and spaces that celebrate the dignity of queer and trans people through the work you do as Youth Outreach Workers (YOWs).

Learn common terms used by and for 2SLGBTQ folks, deepen your understanding of self-determination, and discuss the importance of using and respecting people’s pronouns. You will learn about discrimination and human rights based on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as reflected in the Ontario Human Rights Code, and deepen your understanding of how broader systems of oppression intersect with experience of being queer and trans. Additionally, you will learn best practices on interrupting violence and harm and how to be an ally to/for 2SLGBTQ communities.
